Each night I write in a journal about the things I am thankful for. I have been doing this every night since last August. I write goals down, they change as I reach the goal.
each day I smoke my pipe with creator.
Every morning I do my prayers, during the week at work i light the candles during the prayer and burn incence after. In the weekends I do my prayers outside in the garden so I can see, hear and feel nature better.
During my daily smudge I show gratitude to Creator, White Buffalo Calf Woman, my Spirits, and my Guides for taking care of my body, my mind, my higher self, and my Spirit. Then I make my requests.
I have not been doing my daily walks, trying to catch up on these Modules. When I do walk, during my River Ceremonies, I do Reiki long distance healings for “those who have asked for help, or have had help asked for them”.
There is something missing, that I hope Cloudy can help me with!!!!!!!!!
I need this so much right now. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I’m feeling called to do a walking meditation in my spiral, or stand at the center of my spiral with my Buddha for my prayer ritual. And I love what you said about offering it from a place of gratitude, and not desperation. Last summer, when I was with my teacher at Kripalu, the first thing we did every morning as we were learning our mantras was to correct our motivation. He told us that in the Buddhist teachings and tradition, you did not offer these mantras out of fear, and you did not offer these mantras for yourself. I heard him say it in my head before I heard it come out of his mouth: you heal yourself so that you may heal others.
Every morning, I offer gratitude for a glorious day (regardless of weather), for my comfy bed, sturdy roof, hot shower. This has been my prayer for a while. Also offer gratitude for my car getting me to where I need to go without issue. Is this what you mean?
One prayer ritual that comes to mind is every time I go to feed the squirrel: When I have filled the feeder I always ask Spirit to keep the squirrel safe and well, warm and fed, Love and light and blessed be. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin, Aho, Namaste. I have been doing this for quite a long time now. It just feels right.
