Reading the Wheel
Understanding balance, deficiency, and excess
Class Description
Once we understand what each direction governs, we can begin to recognize the condition of the energy held there.
In this Medicine Circle, you will learn how to read the Wheel through three foundational expressions: balance, deficiency, and excess.
A balanced direction allows its medicine to move naturally and support the whole Wheel.
A deficient direction may feel depleted, neglected, inaccessible, or underdeveloped.
An excessive direction may become overused, overwhelming, or so dominant that it begins consuming energy meant for other parts of the self.
We will explore how these expressions appear within each direction.
East may bring clear vision and inspired thought, or show itself through confusion, indecision, and relentless overthinking.
South may offer emotional intimacy, intuition, creativity, and joy, or become numb, dependent, reactive, or flooded.
West may provide healthy action, boundaries, embodiment, and transformation, or appear as stagnation, force, burnout, and constant striving.
North may bring wisdom, spiritual connection, rest, and reflection, or become disconnection, isolation, avoidance, and withdrawal.
Through teaching, examples, and personal reflection, you will begin identifying the directions that feel steady within you and the places where your energy may be asking for attention.
The Wheel becomes a compassionate diagnostic tool, helping you witness your patterns with curiosity and respond with greater awareness.

Join us the following month for The Flow of Energy, where we will explore what happens when energy leaves one direction, where it gathers next, and how the whole Wheel seeks equilibrium.
