The bear’s still coming around. Leaf litter turned over, bark stripped clean off a few trees, and now scat.

This makes me elated. I’ve been following Bear for over a year now, our paths crossing and crossing, and I have never once laid eyes on her.

Not yet.

I worked the whole area over for 25 minutes. Then I stayed another 40 for no reason except the hope of seeing her, sitting on the ground with my back against a tree older than I am, listening to a white-throated sparrow work through his song.

He never finished it. Got three notes in, stopped, started over. Six or seven times.

That’s what I want to talk to you about, .

You walked one season with me. One quadrant of the wheel, one direction, one element. You did the work, and you came back with something.

And now your arc closes.

The wheel doesn’t. It keeps turning, and I want you on it.

The Wheel is turning differently now. I’ve been listening to those in our circle who are doing the hard work as much as I’m listening to this land, and here’s what I know. We’re all ready to live.

I’m tired of telling people to heal old wounds, find forgiveness, cut cords, all the things nearly every spiritual course asks you to do again, and again, and again. At what point do we arrive and celebrate the joys? Bring passion back? Play? Laugh? Discover?

The Wheel of Your Wild Becoming is the 2026-2027 turn of the Wheel. We start in the present moment and walk forward into the juicy bits of life.

It runs October 25 through October 23 next year. Otherworld, Instinct, Feral, Coven. West to north to east to south and home again, each arc crossing from one direction into the next.

You know the shape of my work already, .

This year goes forward. Hunger. Mischief. Wet boots. The thing you’d go do tomorrow if nobody was keeping score. I’m assuming you’ve already done the digging, so we’re not going back in. It’s going to be a great deal more fun than anyone expects when they sign up for a spiritual enrichment course!

There’s a story running through it too. My own field journal, week by week, written as it happens. I don’t know yet how it ends. Neither will you. You’ll be out living your own alongside me.

There’s magic coming to this Wheel, . I want you walking alongside me on the path, discovering bear tracks and new passions that make your soul come to life.

P.S. The sparrow finished eventually. I was almost back to the house when I heard the whole thing come out clean.
